During the Joseon Dynasty, landscape paintings (sansuhwa) were characterized by capturing the beauty and harmony of nature, as well as the explosive portrayal of boundless landscapes. Joseon-era landscape painters depicted various aspects of nature through concise yet intricate lines and colors, encompassing a profound emotional and philosophical depth within their simplicity. The sentiment and emotion conveyed in Joseon-era landscape paintings resonate even in modern design. Modern design places an emphasis on minimalist forms and concise design principles while also valuing the incorporation of emotion and narrative. From this perspective, the minimalist yet emotional characteristics of Joseon-era landscape paintings can be applied to modern design. Furthermore, these paintings often contain abstract meanings and stories, which have been reinterpreted to align with contemporary contexts.
조선시대 산수화는 자연의 아름다움과 조화, 무한한 풍경의 폭발적인 표현을 특징으로 한다. 조선시대 산수화가들은 간결하면서도 섬세한 선과 색채를 통해 자연의 다양한 모습을 묘사하였으며, 단순함 속에도 깊은 정서와 철학적인 의미를 내포하고 있다. 그리고 조선시대 산수화의 감성과 정서는 현대 디자인에서도 공감받을 수 있는 작품이다. 현대 디자인은 미니멀한 형태와 간결한 디자인 원칙을 중시하면서도, 감성과 이야기를 담아내는 것이 중요한 경향이 있다. 이러한 관점에서, 조선시대 산수화의 미니멀하면서도 감성적인 특성은 현대 디자인에 적용될 수 있다. 또한 산수화는 추상적인 의미와 이야기를 담고 있는데 이러한 의미와 이야기를 현대적인 맥락에 맞게 재해석하여 표현하였다.
