Color perception, while a potent facet of human understanding, is inherently subjective, often yielding diverse interpretations of the same shade among distinct individuals. However, the hues that serve as our representation are a vital conduit for expressing and perceiving our identities. Embodied within the venture "ChromaTales: Colors Defining Us," the app serves as a conduit to identify the triad of colors present in people's hair, countenance, and attire. These colors are subsequently exhibited independently, painting a vivid picture of their identities. Through the discerning selection of these personal colors, identities are succinctly and vibrantly communicated through graphic data. As individuals capture or upload images via the app, the software translates the input into real-time color interpretations. These chromatic visualizations are accessible not only to participants in real time but also disseminated across the digital landscape. "ChromaTales" aspires to encapsulate decades of an individual's life through this application, or the collective identity of a group. By employing this visualization process to define individuals by their colors, the initiative endeavors to reinterpret the significance of colors in representing both ourselves and our societal roles.
사람을 바라봄에 있어 일반적으로 색상의 인식은 강력한 요소임에도 불구하고 주관적인 편이며, 종종 서로 다른 개인들 사이에서 동일한 색상에 대한 해석이 분분할 수 있다. 그럼에도 나와 우리를 나타내는 색상은 우리를 표현하거나 인식하게 하는 중요한 요소이다. 이 프로젝트"ChromaTales: Colors that Define Us"는 앱을 통하여 사람들의 머리, 얼굴 및 의복의 세 가지 색상을 인식하고 이를 색깔로만 디스플레이 하여 그들의 정체성을 표현한다. 사람들이 지닌 색상이라는 특정 선택을 통해 개인의 정체성을 보다 색상으로 구성된 단순한 그래픽 데이터로 명확하고 빠르게 전달한다. 앱을 통해 사람의 모습을 캡쳐 하거나 사진을 업로드할 경우, 해당 애플리케이션은 사람의 데이터를 색상으로 해석하고 실시간으로 이를 표현한다. 이러한 색상 시각화 결과물은 참가자들은 실시간으로 볼 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 인터넷에서도 공유된다. 이 프로젝트 "ChromaTales"은 앱을 통하여 한 사람의 수 십년 간에 걸친 색상 시각화를 시도하거나, 한 무리에 속한 다수의 사람들의 색상 시각화를 시도한다. 이 프로젝트를 통하여 사람을 색상으로 정의하는 시각화 활동을 통하여, 사회적 맥락 내에서 나와 우리를 표현하는 색상의 의미를 다시 해석하고자 한다.
