What might design education and research become in the future?
As design responds to rapidly changing technologies, societies, cultures, and ways of living, the roles of designers—and the ways we educate and support them—are also being reconsidered. How should design education evolve in response to these shifts? What new forms of research, practice, collaboration, and knowledge might be needed? And how might design itself be redefined as its boundaries continue to expand?
As part of the 40th Anniversary of the Department of Industrial Design at KAIST, this symposium brings together four leading design educators and researchers from across the world to share their perspectives, provocations, and visions for the future of design.
Through a series of talks and a joint panel discussion, the symposium invites an open conversation about where design education and research may be heading—and what we might collectively imagine for the decades ahead.
